About Us

Manhood Camp is a 501c3 tax exempt organization that offers a 10 week Life Skills program focusing on empowering At-Risk young men towards safe and productive behavior. Our program's aim is to impart four main principles: 1. Self-Awareness, 2. Self-Empowerment, 3. Personal-Responsibility and 4. Social-Responsibility.

“We can do no great things only small things with great love”

What We Do

Manhood Camp seeks to strengthen society as a whole by concentrating on helping our youth understand and appreciate their evolving societal roles. We believe it is our responsibility to help provide a structured environment for our young men with the aim of guiding them towards making informed and responsible decisions as they enter into manhood.

Beyond the Hoodie

The Beyond The Hoodie: Community Youth Speak Up event was designed for community members under the age of 21 to have an open dialogue with members of the LAPD, attorneys, and concerned community members about the effects of the Trayvon Martin verdict and other important issues impacting their lives.

Help End Child Sex Trafficking

At least 100,000 to 300,000 youth are at risk for commercial sexual exploitation annually in the U.S. (Estes and Wiener, 2001).The average age of entry into the commercial sex industry in the U.S. is 12 years old. (U.S. Department of Justice, Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section) 80 to 90 percent of sexually exploited children have a history of child sexual abuse. The National Incidence Studies of Missing, Abducted, Runaway, and Throwaway (NISMART) children estimate that 1.6 million children run away from home each year in the U.S. One in three teens will be recruited by a predator within 48 hours of leaving home and becoming homeless.
